Can you find coupons directly through Shutterstock?
Yes, unlike many retailers, Shutterstock has a webpage that details all the coupons and promo codes it's offering at that particular time. The current offer, 10% off your next order on standard license plans, is valid for the whole of 2022. This can be used on image, video or music plans and can be obtained by entering either SS10 or FF10 at the checkout page. This discount cannot be used on other types of license, such as Premium or Enhanced, and cannot be combined with any other coupons. You can make use of a free trial if you aren't ready to start your plan yet.
How should I use Shutterstock coupons?
Shutterstock coupons must be applied at the checkout stage of your purchase, after you've selected the images, music tracks or videos you wish to download. If you haven't yet signed up for a Shutterstock account, add the assets to your cart. Create a free Shutterstock account, or login if you already have one. Provide a payment method in your account to complete registration and then right before clicking Checkout, click on the Do You Have a Coupon? section. This will allow you to enter a coupon code and receive the value of the discount.
Where can I find Shutterstock coupons?
There are two key places to discover coupons for Shutterstock. The first of these is right here on AppGrooves, which collates all the best coupons for each of the brands listed. Shutterstock's coupons are listed here on this page, and you can click on each of them to learn how they can be used and where. AppGrooves will replace these coupons as and when they expire and new ones become available. The second place is on the Shutterstock website itself. It has a dedicated webpage that lists the coupons currently available.
Shutterstock doesn't seem to accept my coupon?
Be sure that you are using the coupon or promo code for the purpose it's meant for. The coupons found on the Shutterstock website can only be used against standard licenses, rather than Enhanced or Premium and cannot be used in conjunction with another coupon or promo code at the same time. If the code still doesn't work, after you have tried it again and made sure that the code is inputted correctly, you could try to contact the customer service team at Shutterstock who may be able to help. Otherwise, you could select another coupon and see if that works.
Are many Shutterstock coupons available?
AppGrooves has two coupons currently available for Shutterstock, which need to be inputted on the website right before clicking purchase. The first of these is 10 free images when you sign up for a Shutterstock free trial. This gives you the option to download your first 10 images free of charge, when you use the code PICK10FREE at checkout. Remember, your plan will auto-renew unless you cancel before the end of the trial period. The second coupon is for 40 free videos for those customers new to Shutterstock.
How often does Shutterstock offer online coupons?
Shutterstock offers coupons that last throughout the year on its website. If you scroll down to the bottom of the home page, under Content you'll find a Coupons page. Here are all the coupons and promo codes available directly through Shutterstock. You'll also find other coupons available through AppGrooves, which are usually different. These are updated more frequently than those found on the company website, and generally offer greater value. Check back on AppGrooves as they are updated regularly.
What's today's best Shutterstock coupon?
The best coupon currently available Shutterstock, in terms of value, is 40 videos for free when you sign up as a new customer. To claim this, you simply need to click through from the coupon on the AppGrooves website, sign up as a new customer and you'll be provided with the credits to download 40 videos. Remember that there are multiple plans to choose from at Shutterstock, some that contain videos and some that don't. Plans such as Flex allow you to switch between the different formats in the same plan.
Are there any deals for new customers?
Yes, most of the best Shutterstock deals are for new customers only. The coupon currently available through the Shutterstock website, 10% off standard license purchases, is available for those customers who have not previously used the Shutterstock service. Likewise, on AppGrooves, the two coupons currently available are for those who are new to Shutterstock, namely 10 free images when you sign up for a free trial and 40 free videos. You can also sign up to the Shutterstock newsletter, which will inform you of any new deals and promotions as and when they happen.
Can you use coupons on a Shutterstock Enterprise account?
Coupons cannot be used on Shutterstock Enterprise accounts, as these are fully customized plans and only available by contacting Shutterstock directly. Enterprise allows access to all products and services from Shutterstock, and includes dedicated support, access for unlimited users and the ability to transfer license ownership during the duration of the subscription. Discounts may be available depending on the size of your organization and how many assets you require as part of your plan.
Are there licensing requirements when using Shutterstock?
By signing up to a Shutterstock account, you'll be agreeing to the licensing agreement set in place by the company for the use of its assets, whether that be image, video or music track. The licensing agreement can be found here and covers everything from how assets can be used, how often they can be used, and by whom they can be used. Depending on your level of license, you must also take into account where the assets will be used. Those used for a commercial purpose come under one type of license, while though used in editorial circumstances come under another. Check out the agreement and the pricing plans on the Shutterstock website for more information.
What are the different rights plans for images?
There are five key plans for image use, all ranging in price, the amount of images you're allowed to download and how you can use them. On-Demand is the simplest, most basic package. You'll receive either 5 or 25 images per year, designed for those customers who use it infrequently. Here, you can choose between a standard license and an enhanced license, with the latter allowing aspects such as unlimited publication and use on merchandising. A Flex subscription allows the customer to use their 25 credits against either image, video or music. The standard Image Subscription allows the user to select between 10 and 750 downloads per month, with the option to pay monthly or annually, and covers one user. Team, on the other hand, allows up to 10 users to download 750 per month. Finally, the Enterprise option is for businesses which need larger capacities.
Can you get rights plans for video and music too?
Yes. Video plans differ from image plans, unless you purchase a Flex membership, which covers everything. With video plans, you can download 5, 10 or 20 clips per month, depending on how much you're willing to pay. Alternatively, Shutterstock allows customers to purchase single or multiple image rights without signing up to a monthly or annual subscription. You can either buy 5 SD, HD or UHD video clips as a one-off purchase. The same is true for music, where you can either sign up to a monthly plan, which includes unlimited music downloads, or license tracks individually as a one-off purchase.
How about editorial?
Editorial has a separate license due to the nature of how the assets are going to be used. Because the intention is to use the assets for publication, rather than commercial use, you'll need a different license for this. This license allows customers to use the assets in either print or digital media, and is therefore more expensive. You can either purchase single images for $159, or a 25 image pack for $1,989. Alternatively, you can contact Shutterstock for a customized quote if you are part of a larger enterprise that requires more flexible packages.
What is Shutterstock Flex?
A Shutterstock Flex subscription is for those who need more flexibility in terms of the assets they download. The standard product, Flex 25, allows the user to use 25 credits per month on a combination of image, video footage and music. Images constitute one credit, videos are eight and music is four. Alternatively, you can contact Shutterstock and request a more customized quote if you're a larger enterprise - the next level Flex subscription allows 10 users to download from the same account. The Flex Premium account allows unlimited users and a wider range of assets.
Can I get discounts for referring a friend?
Yes, you can receive a pre-paid MasterCard for each friend or family member that you refer to Shutterstock. On the Shutterstock website, in the top right-hand corner, click Refer & Get $30. This will then provide you with a unique link to send your friend. If they sign up for an annual image or footage subscription, you'll receive a $30 pre-paid MasterCard and your friend will receive a similar item worth $20. You must have an active Shutterstock account to refer a friend. Music, team or enterprise subscriptions are not eligible. Those who you refer must be first-time users of Shutterstock.
Can I use Shutterstock for free?
You can benefit from some of Shutterstock's services for free, at least for a short period of time. You can sign up for a one-month free trial, whereby you'll receive 10 images for free during that timeframe. If you cancel this service before the end of the month, you won't be charged anything, although if you don't the service will auto-renew at the end of each month. Each week, there is also a free image posted by Shutterstock on its website, which can be used without signing up for a paid account. Furthermore, there are also some collections of background images which can be downloaded free of charge.
What other tools are available on Shutterstock?
There are many tools available on Shutterstock, some of which are available without needing to sign up for a paid plan. The primary tool you can make use of is the Shutterstock Editor, which allows your to adjust, crop and add backgrounds to your images, whether they come from Shutterstock or not. You'll find this under the Tools dropdown at the top of the homepage. Here, you'll also find preset templates to help you size images for the right scenario. This is particularly helpful if you need to post images to social media or to print in publications. There is also a file converter tool, if your image or video is currently in a different format to how you need it.
Can I use Shutterstock on different platforms?
Yes, Shutterstock can be used on different platforms and also on different devices. On desktop and laptop, Shutterstock and Shutterstock Editor can be used on the latest five versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Microsoft Edge. You can also download the Shutterstock app on iOS and Android where you can source images and videos, although the Editor function will work best on desktop. You can also download the Shutterstock Contributor app, where you can share your photos with the Shutterstock community.
Can I get a free trial at Shutterstock?
Yes, free trials are available at Shutterstock, although only on certain packages and licenses. A free trial is offered on the Image Subscription plan, which allows you to download between 10 and 750 images per month, depending on how much you're willing to eventually pay. The trial lasts for one month, and you can cancel at any time to prevent Shutterstock from taking payment at the start of the next month. It will auto-renew each month until stopped. Free trials cannot be combined with any other offer or coupon, and cannot be used more than once.
What are the different license levels?
The different license levels of Shutterstock are designed to give customers the flexibility to choose which is most suitable to their needs. The Standard License is the default option on Shutterstock, and is available across all image, video footage and music assets. It included unlimited web distribution and the capacity for print runs of up to 500,000 copies and out-of-home impressions of 500,000. There are restrictions for commercial space use and merchandising. Enhanced licenses remove all restrictions in terms of impressions and print runs, offering unlimited usage on assets.
